Team GB historic medal haul
Today Team GB secured their 24th Gold medal. The team's medal haul has now surpassed those won in Beijing in 2008. That was one of our stand out years. Prior to that you would have to go back to as far as 1908, for such medal success. More Here
Court overrules BOA Olympic lifetime doping bans
The BOA, British Olympic Association has had its policy of life time bans for drug abusers overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas). Great Britain turns a golden shade of yellow
As the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics showed the World, we British are rather eccentric. We would deny that we are barking mad but not shy away from being called eccentric, wacky or quirky. For us the news here just proves the point. Team GB had become desperate for gold medals. Way to go Wiggo
The UK got of to a slow start at the London 2012 Olympics. When the medals began to come they were sparse and never gold. The Quest for Gold began in earnest. Bradley Wiggins who such a short time ago lead the British Cycling team to success in the Tour de France looked a good bet. However the grueling Tour de France must have taken its toll. Bradley himself said as he won the TDF that he was satisfied. For him an Olympic Gold was the icing on the cake but not essential. More Here
Row over empty Olympic seats
The London 2012 Olympics is now well and truly underway. After problems earlier in the year selling tickets there should be few seats available. For one reason or another though that is not the case. Instead of Olympians performing in front of packed audiences, rows of empty seats have been clearly visible at some of the events already held. The problem with empty seats is that they do not create an atmosphere conducive to spurring sports men and women on and neither do they make money. More Here

Olympic Israeli bomber fears
Security personnel in the UK are on the look out for the mastermind of last week's Bulgarian bomb attack. UK authorities fear that he is on his way to London, set to cause havoc.In last week's attack a group of Israeli tourists were targeted. Six people died in the attack and the Israeli authorities have expressed concern that their tourists or sporting celebrities may be targeted in London. More Here
